The Humanists of Tallahassee (HOT) was founded in 2019 by a group of humanists, freethinkers, atheists, and other assorted non-believers to make a substantive, positive impact on their community. The mission of HOT is to promote humanism in Florida’s capital city and the surrounding Big Bend area through socializing, education and inspiration, advocacy, and community service.

Living our best lives and working for the greater good of humanity can be done without any belief in the supernatural. We value reason, science, caring for others, problem-solving, the cooperation of all human beings, the arts, the common good, human rights, environmental preservation, civil liberties, free inquiry, and critical thinking.  Humanism fulfills some of the same needs as religion, but in a different way.
